AI in Action: Focus on Sustainability and Climate Change
Sustainability is on the minds of many organizations across Canada. From natural disasters disrupting supply chains and operations to unpredictable weather patterns affecting insurance coverage – there is no sector untouched by climate related events.
At Vector, we are committed to a more sustainable approach towards AI. In honour of Earth Day 2022, Vector brought together a panel from our community who are using the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to manage sustainability issues affecting their businesses.
Combining Operational and Ocean-sourced Weather Data to Optimise Voyages
Classification society ABS has developed a new service to combine analytics of operational data, with weather data, to make recommendations for the speed and rpm of the vessel, for best performance and least risk.
In this webinar, they will explain how it works.
The weather data is sourced from Sofar Ocean, a company which has a global network of weather sensors – thousands of sensors, on all five oceans, and 100,000 data points collected daily.
The crew and shoreside team have a unified digital platform, “ABS My Digital Fleet”, where they can work together and access weather data.
